Advisory & Development
Every place or project holds unique stories. Through Advisory & Development, Folio reveals untapped potential, transforming destinations, properties, and cultural initiatives for modern audiences across Europe and beyond.
We offer advisory services for destinations and place-anchored projects that want a clearer position in the market and a stronger pull on the right audiences. We work with regions, cities, cultural clusters, and site-specific institutions to define a compelling identity, shape the offer, and build partnerships that make the destination resonate now and in the long term.

Typical engagements span destination positioning and narrative development, cultural strategy for institutions and districts, and experience or product development where the goal is to elevate the place proposition. This can include hospitality and real-estate assets—hotels, mixed-use sites, or heritage properties—when they are integral to how the destination is perceived.

How we do it

Our work starts with a close look at your project’s background, resources, and ambitions—whether it’s a region in need of cultural revitalization or a hotel aiming for a competitive edge. This research-led approach uncovers opportunities for authentic storytelling and targeted engagement, including public–private partnerships and municipal initiatives when relevant.

Next, we align the right people, ideas, and initiatives to realize your vision. Collaborating with local stakeholders and international experts, we develop strategies and experiences that help you stand out long term. Success is measured by new audiences, additional revenue streams, and a unified identity that resonates far beyond the project’s launch.

Recent projects

Pavillion Nordico

We have created and executed a number of residencies around
the world. Through our interdisciplinary, research-based and people-focused process, we do a deep dive into the region, meet, and talk to, as many people as possible, read about its culture and history, thereby isolating a number of themes, which we then activate and rejuvenate through residency programs, where we bring in outside resources to work with and collaborate with local practitioners and experts.

We share these new products, services or works of art with the rest of the world through relevant media, exhibitions and at trade shows, making sure that we create lasting and sustainable impact on the regions we work with.

PN1 – Nordic-Argentine Design Collaboration

Organized and executed by us, PN1 was a groundbreaking design collaboration between the Nordic region and Argentina, spanning over three years. The project united emerging Nordic designers with Argentine craftspeople, fostand red creative exchanges through hands-on design work.

Building on past collaborations, PN1 led to the creation of unique design objects and established new partnerships. Designers gained valuable insights into Argentine craftsmanship, while companies benefited from fresh design solutions and talent, driving growth and opening new market opportunities.

Architectural Exchange, Copenhagen & Berlin

We organized a three-day program in Berlin for 90 leading architects from Copenhagen and Berlin, aimed at fostering networking and collaboration among top professionals. The event included private tours with renowned architects and artists, offering exclusive insights into their work. A highlight was a reception at the former studio of Bauhaus architect Marcel Breuer, where local chefs collaborated with regional farmers to create a memorable dining experience.

Participants enjoyed a blend of architectural inspiration and exceptional gastronomy, with natural wines from our partners, including a special wine crafted for the event. The program concluded with a celebration of architectural excellence and culinary craftsmanship.

Baltic and Nordic Region Collaboration

A Nordic city sought to strengthen ties with other cities and cultural centers across the Baltic and Nordic regions. We developed a project concept identifying cities and cultural centers, sourcing talent to align with shared priorities like sustainability, youth involvement, and international collaboration.

The project fostered cultural exchange and collaboration across the region, guided by the collective goals of all participants. By focusing on art, culture, and sustainability, we helped build stronger interregional connections and long-term partnerships.
